The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta accepts applications from local organizations involved in animal welfare, arts & culture, children & youth, education & learning, environment, health, heritage, seniors services, social & human services, recreation and leisure. These grants are funded through the Smart & Caring Community Grants Program with assistance from Field of Interest funds and others.
An organization is able to apply if:
1. It is a not-for-profit organization serving Southeastern Alberta (the area covered by the Foundation).
2. It is a charity and has a charitable registration number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
3. Is a qualified donee (definition of a qualified donee is here) and is listed as such on the CRA website

Applications are available in print (upon request) and are fill-able through the link below. Organizations are strongly advised to attend our grant workshops, which are held twice a year. Contact the Community Foundation office for advice on how to complete the application process and for workshop locations and dates.
Applications are accepted twice a year. Deadlines are March 15th (Spring grants cycle) and September 15th (Fall grants cycle). If the 15th of the Month falls on a weekend the application must be submitted on the Friday Before; the office closes at 4:30pm.
The applications are reviewed by a committee of volunteers who make grant recommendations to the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. This takes approximately two months and applicants will be informed of the result of their application by end of May for the Spring grants cycle and by the end of November for the Fall grants cycle.
Under $15,000: Some individuals find it difficult to save this PDF Application form once it has been filled out online. Over $15,000: Please fill out the following application form and submit it by the grant deadline. Before you fill out the application, please call the Community Foundation Office 403.527.9038 and speak with Trish Richard – Coordinator of Philanthropic Services.
