TransCanada employees have always taken an interest in the next generations of both our community and our workforce…they’ll be living in this area and possibly working with us (or we’ll be working for them!) one day.
What made you bring your money to the Community Foundation? One of our retirees Myna Wendt suggested that we try and find a scholarship or endowment that would keep the long, proud history of the TransCanada Mainliner Social Club alive and well for many years, while providing a benefit to the community we’ve been a part of for so long.
Why is giving back important to the organization? This year is an exceptional example for so many people – in this difficult economic time, with so much political change provincially and federally, we are so fortunate to work for a company that provides us gainful employment – salary, benefits, pension, purpose – all the things you’d want in a job, but TransCanada does so much more. TransCanada continues to sponsor many local and national charitable events, corporate and regional team functions and it employs great people who are great to work with…it’s an incredible place to work.
