Lanfine Wind Community Fund Grant

Pattern Energy Group LP is a leader in renewable energy and transmission infrastructure. Pattern Energy is guided by a long-term commitment to serve customers, protect the environment, and strengthen communities. In conjunction with their 150-megawatt (MW) Lanfine Wind power project in Special Area 3 and the MD of Acadia, they also committed $1 million to the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSEA) over the next 20 years.

Charities and Non-Profit (with affiliate) groups are invited to apply for one grant each cycle. Organizations MUST be located within the boundaries of Special Area 3, the Town of Oyen, or the MD of Acadia.

 

Eligibility

Organizations who are registered with CRA as a qualified donee or apply in partnership with a qualified donee to be eligible. The Declaration of Affiliation can be found here.

Organization MUST be located and operated within Special Area 3, the Town of Oyen, or the MD of Acadia #34 whose activities are within the Foundation’s policies.

How

Applications are reviewed by an Advisory Committee established by Pattern Energy Canada which includes a representative(s) from CFSEA’s Grants Committee or local Prairie Crocus Community Fund Advisory Committee, representation from each area supported, and the project manager of the Lanfine Wind Project.  Organizations are strongly advised to attend our grant workshop, which is held June 11, 2024 at 12:00 pm. 

Deadlines

July 17, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Timeline

The applications are reviewed by a committee of volunteers who make grant recommendations to the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. This takes approximately eight weeks and applicants will be informed of the result at that time.
