Past Initiatives

Thank you to a grant from the Family Community Support Services, we are able to provide a volunteer program to centralize and deploy volunteers.

The focus of the program was to support vulnerable residents in Medicine Hat in the wake of the pandemic.

Penpal Project

The Penpal Project connects students and seniors in our community through writing letters. Intergenerational friendships are formed, language and written-communication skills are built, and new ideas are shared. Please connect with the Veiner Centre if you are interested in becoming a pen pal.

Keep In Touch Program

The Keep In Touch (KIT) Program was developed in July 2020 to provide regular contact of support and encouragement to individuals feeling lonely and isolated by volunteer callers. The KIT program is now being operated by Canadian Mental Health Association in Medicine Hat. If you want to learn more about becoming a participant or volunteer, please contact kitprogram@cmha-aser.ca or call 403-504-1811.
