The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSEA) is pleased to announce that $568,052 has been distributed to charities across the region through its Fall 2025 granting cycle, supporting initiatives that strengthen vibrant, healthy, and caring communities across Southeastern Alberta.

Julie Friesen, Vice Chair of CFSEA, welcomes grantees, donors, volunteers, and community partners at the 26th Annual Chair’s Reception.

This fall, $199,877 was awarded through CFSEA’s Community Grants program, supporting 24 organizations in areas such as youth mentorship, housing stability, mental health, arts and culture, food security, and newcomer integration. Of this amount, $118,156 was directed to charities in Medicine Hat and Redcliff.

Medicine Hat and Redcliff Community Grant recipients received their awards last Thursday at the 26th Annual Chair’s Reception, where donors, volunteers, community partners, and grant recipients gathered to celebrate the impact of local philanthropy. Rural recipients were recognized at their own local events in Brooks & District, Prairie Crocus (Special Areas No. 2, 3, 4, and M.D. of Acadia), Cypress County, and the County of Forty Mile.

“Community Grants reflect the generosity of donors who entrust us to direct funding where it’s needed most,” says Jesse Prince, Chair of CFSEA’s Grants Committee. “Our committee carefully reviewed applications from across the region, prioritizing impact, alignment with local needs, and our Vital Signs focus areas. We are honoured to support organizations that are working every day to strengthen our communities.”

Community Grants are made possible through Field of Interest Funds and donations directed to CFSEA’s Community Grants Fund, which supports the greatest needs across the region. In addition to Community Grants, CFSEA also distributed funding through donor-advised funds, designated funds, agency funds, and student scholarships, all of which contributed to the overall $568,052 granted this fall.
