We’re inviting community-minded people from across Southeast Alberta to consider joining our volunteer Board of Directors!

Our Board plays an important role in guiding the Community Foundation’s work, ensuring that charitable resources are stewarded wisely and used to create meaningful impact across our region. Board members bring diverse perspectives, lived experience, and professional skills that help ensure our decisions reflect the needs and priorities of the communities we serve.

“We often hear people say, ‘I’m not sure I’d be the right fit,’” says Niki Gray, Executive Director of CFSEA. “In reality, our strongest board members are people who care deeply about their community, ask good questions, and want to help build something lasting.”

Board service involves approximately five hours per month over a three‑year term. We welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, whether you have experience in finance, governance, communications, or simply a strong passion for community and local impact. Individuals finishing terms with other boards and looking for a meaningful way to stay engaged are especially encouraged to apply.

“This is less about having a specific title or résumé and more about bringing curiosity, perspective, and commitment to the table,” Gray adds. “We’re always grateful when people are willing to share their voice and experience in support of the wider community.”
